UMMC offers both pediatric and adult hematology care for sickle cell. Their team has extensive experience managing the full range of sickle cell complications — from anemia, pain crises, to stroke risk, kidney problems, organ complications, iron overload, retinopathy, etc.

Treatments and services include medication, red-blood-cell exchange (or transfusion), same-day infusion services, and importantly access to stem cell transplant and gene therapy for eligible patients.
